April Christopherson, OTR/L, Founder & Owner

April has been an occupational therapist for over 25 years and has worked with diverse populations in a variety of settings.

She grew up in and graduated from Olathe High School in Olathe, CO in 1987.  She is excited to be the founder and owner of Exploration Kids Therapy in Gunnison, Colorado.  April worked as the director of OT and director of training and development for over 10 years for The Shandy Clinic in Colorado Springs, CO where she developed a neuro-intensive program for children focusing on neuropathway repetition and motor learning. April believes in a team approach to treating children - often working closely with Physicians, Functional Neurologists, Dieticians, Optometrists, Chiropractors and Naturopaths. 

She sits on the clinical advisory board for Interactive Metronome Corporation and has written several articles and webinars focused on treating pediatrics with a brain training approach. She is a member of both the Advanced Brain Technologies and Interactive Metronome adjunct faculty where she teaches introductory and advanced continuing education courses to professionals. She has traveled around the USA and the world teaching therapists and medical providers on Neuroplasticity and Development.  She now travels and speaks for the Professional Continuing Education company, PESI. 

In her spare time April enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, and spending time at her family cabin in Little Cimarron.  She has been married to Reid for 27 years and they have 4 children.  April was granted her degrees in Occupational Therapy and Psychology from St Ambrose University in Davenport, IA in 1991.

Stacey Pozner Cline, MOT, OTR

Stacey has been an occupational therapist for almost 20 years.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, CA.  She grew up in New Jersey and moved to Crested Butte in 2009.  Before relocating Stacey worked exclusively in pediatrics with a focus on Sensory Processing and Feeding Disorders.  After relocating she gained experience working with adults at Gunnison Valley Health, where she helped launch their pediatric therapy program.    She also worked with Dr. Adamich at Abba Eye Care providing vision therapy services.  After taking time off from full-time work to raise her daughter, Stacey is excited to be focusing on pediatrics once again!   She draws from experiences in many different practice settings including hospitals, private and public clinics, home-based early intervention and school-based services.  She has advanced training in Sensory Processing Disorders and is a certified provider of Handwriting Without Tears, The Listening Program and Interactive Metronome.  Stacey believes that every child has infinite potential to grow, develop and explore the earth in a variety of ways.   She believes that therapy is a team approach, involving many people in a child’s life.

When Stacey is not working she enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, watching movies, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Sara Gibb, SLP

Sara is a Speech Language Pathologist for Exploration Kids Therapy.

Sara grew up in St. Louis, MO and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  She has worked with all ages from infants to the geriatric population, but her passion is for pediatrics.  Sara's continuing education has focused on the areas of pediatric feeding and swallowing, childhood speech and language disorders, communication and social skills within the autism spectrum, and reading.

Sara currently lives in Pitkin, CO with her husband, two children, and one wild puppy.  When she's not providing speech and language services, she loves hiking and camping with her family, hanging out by the creek, and baking bread.

Taylor Orahood, COTA/L

Taylor grew up on the Western Slope of Colorado and is excited to be back in the area working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Exploration Kids Therapy. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College and Associate of Occupational Science degree from Pima Medical Institute.

Taylor’s lifelong history of playing and coaching team sports has built a sense of positivity and teamwork in her life. She enjoys working with kids, therapists, and parents to support in children achieving their goals.

In her spare time Taylor enjoys spending time with family and friends; hiking, camping, tennis, snowshoeing, beach time, live music, and travelling.

Mariah Davidson, COTA/L

Mariah is a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with the Gunnison Valley Watershed School district where she specializes in Feeding, Sensory Integration, Zones of Regulation, and Handwriting Without Tears.

Exploration Kids Therapy considers it a privilege to have Mariah bring her unique skill-set to the team on a part-time basis.




Cheryl Dillard is the Clinic Office Administrator for Exploration Kids Therapy.  She is our office guru, helping us to stay organized and running smoothly. Cheryl comes to Exploration Kids Therapy with over 25 years of customer service and office management experience.  She is highly adept in organizational proficiencies, streamlining processes and building relationships.  Cheryl’s greatest passion is serving people and community.  Her background includes working with low-income families to provide parents with one-on-one support, guidance, educational and community resources to develop a nurturing home and strengthen their family.  Cheryl also worked with adults with special needs, to enhance their lives by providing job training and post-high school educational opportunities.

Cheryl originally grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, but moved to the Oklahoma City area when she was 18, where she later met her husband, Mike. They have been married for 24 years and have 3 daughters.

Cheryl and her family of five, recently moved to Gunnison from Yukon, Oklahoma in late summer of 2018.  They are thoroughly enjoying the Gunnison life, with 3 dogs, 1 bunny, 2 gerbils and recently acquiring 20 chickens. They are certainly making themselves right at home!
